Workflow Scenario

Clinical workflow defined with expected benefits of proposed solution.
It is important to understand the context in which your solution is going to be used. What happens before and what happens after the use of your solution can have a significant impact on its value. For example, if the value of your solution is to reduce the time of a procedure so more procedures can be done in a day - knowing if there are rate limiting steps before or after will be critical in determining the true impact of your solution.
The most common method to describe a clinical workflow is a flow chart. It shows the actions taken, decision that need to be made and how they relate. Start by observing current practice and asking questions to get a high-level overview of the current situation in an exemplar of a target clinical environment. Then, assuming your solution works perfectly, show how your solution changes the workflow and describe how it helps.
